And I took my wife and teen daughters with me.
Calvinism is a big part of that story. I’ll tell that story, but first let’s talk about why I would tell it and why you should read it.
I spent about six years in Calvinism. I studied seminary-level books with a group of devout Calvinist pastors. I discovered new ways of thinking and believing. I learned the arguments from scripture, the lingo, and the logic.
One thing I learned along the way is that there are things that devout Calvinists will not say in mixed (non-Calvinist) company. I think that’s a shame.
So, having been close enough to hear the Calvinist whispers, I want to share them with you.
Now, you can connect some of the dots yourself. Many people do. But a lot of Christians don’t.
My experience was that once I connected the dots in 2014, I began to see the sheer darkness of it all. By that time, I was in so deep that I couldn’t see a way out. I thought Calvinism was the only true view of reality, but it disgusted me and left me without hope. So, I was trapped. And that led to the darkest days of my life and those of my family as well.
If, by pointing this out to others, I can save them from the pain that I experienced, I think it is worth the effort. I’m not the only one who has tasted the bitter fruit of this tree. There are many, many more. If other people who are exploring Calvinism can see far enough down the Calvinist road to turn back earlier than I did, then I think I’ve brought some good to the world in this small way.
And if they don’t turn back—if people can go in with their eyes open and accept where it leads—that’s fine too. I know a lot of wonderful Christians who believe these things.
Let’s take a look and you can decide for yourself.
